NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK: (September 1, 2026) – Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is giving local animal lovers a chance to find that special fur-ever friend.
The region’s premier entertainment resort destination is hosting “Betting on Furever,” a free pet adoption and shelter donation event, on Friday, September 11 from 1-5 p.m. outside the resort’s 4th Street entrance, overlooking Seneca Square. Several local animal shelters and animal rescues will be on hand with many cute and cuddly furry friends who are looking for loving homes. The event is free and open to the public.
“Our ‘Betting on Furever’ pet adoption event is going to be a fun celebration where local animal lovers can meet their next pet and support the important work our region’s animal shelters and rescues do every day,” said Steve McCarthy, Vice President of Operations, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. “We’re excited to see some perfect matches being made throughout the day.”
Participating shelters and rescues include Buddy’s 2nd Chance Rescue, Buffalo Animal Shelter, Buffalo Underdogs, Niagara County SPCA, and Rescue Buffalo. Attendees can meet a number of cats and dogs and find the perfect pet to add to their life.
In addition to the animals looking for a home, attendees can also take photos with dogs who have served as the official Buffalo Sabres Team Dog from 2-4 p.m. The dogs at the event served as the Sabres’ official Team Dog over the past few seasons while completing training to serve as a service dog for local Veterans.
Local DJ and radio personality Nicholas Picholas will keep the party atmosphere bumping, and several local food trucks will have a wide selection of mouthwatering creations available for purchase throughout the afternoon.
To top it all off, attendees age 21 and older can earn $15 in Free Slot Play for a donation of $10 or more to support the local shelters.
