NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK-BUFFALO, NEW YORK-SALAMANCA, NEW YORK: (December 23, 2022) – As the region continues to deal with the onset of a major winter storm, Seneca Gaming Corporation announced Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino will be closed as of 1pm today, Friday, December 23. A reopening time will be determined as officials continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the day. Once set, the reopening plan will be shared with the news media, and announced via the casino’s website and social media channels.
“We are keeping the safety of our team members and guests at the forefront of our decision,” said Seneca Gaming Corporation President & CEO Kevin Nephew. “The weather conditions in and around Buffalo simply make it impossible for our team members to travel safely to and from Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. Team members and guests currently on-site will be required to leave so that we can execute a safe and thorough temporary closure. From here, we will monitor the changing weather conditions and their impacts on travel before making a determination on when we will re-open.”
In the meantime, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls and Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca remain open, albeit with limited amenities. While many of the food and beverage outlets within the resorts either have closed or will close in the coming hours, others will remain open to accommodate hotel guests and other patrons who are on-site and those who may be arriving.
“This is a significant weather event and we will make adjustments and announce any additional changes as conditions dictate,” Nephew said. “Our biggest wish is that everyone throughout the region stays safe as we ride out this storm together.”
