NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK: (October 29, 2025) – Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino announced today that highly acclaimed model Quannah Chasinghorse will miss the 3rd Annual Indigenous Fashion Show this Saturday due to personal reasons. Chasinghorse was scheduled to appear in the runway show as a Special Guest Model.
Chasinghorse announced on social media that she was clearing her schedule to be with family following the sudden passing of her best friend.
“I was so excited to walk the runway and meet everyone,” her post stated. “I’m so thankful for the opportunity and looking forward to being there another time. Mahsichoo for your understanding and patience as I navigate this loss and grief. Good luck to all the models and I can’t wait to see the designers’ work!”
“Our hearts are with Quannah during this difficult time, and we are deeply grateful for her love, light, and continued support of Indigenous fashion and community,” said Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino General Manger Joanne Israel. “While we are disappointed that Quannah is unable to join us as originally planned, we are very much looking forward to a thrilling celebration of Indigenous style, creativity and culture, highlighted by the amazing talent of our participating designers and models.”
The 3rd Annual Indigenous Fashion Show will feature a stunning blend of traditional and contemporary designs, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and artistry of Indigenous fashion. This year’s runway show will showcase the designs of 11 Indigenous designers: Bitterwater for Redhouse; Bruno Henry; Cami Jones Designs; Carly Koban; Karlene Familo; Homer Couture; Kreations by Kehala; Pidabinikwe; Shinymoon Creations; The Snipes Nest; and Tisha Thompson x K. Francisbrand. All of the original designs and stunning accessories will be modeled by 46 Indigenous male and female models from across Turtle Island.
In addition, the handiwork of accessory designers Beads by Arielle, Mary Jacobs Designs, and The Urban Gaiyowah will accent the fashion selections being modeled throughout the show.
Ashley Callingbull, the acclaimed model, actress, activist, and author, who was crowned Miss Universe Canada in 2024, will appear in the runway show as a Special Guest Model. Callingbull was the first Indigenous woman to win the Miss Universe Canada title. A member of the Enoch Cree Nation, she was also the first First Nations representative from North America to compete for the title of Miss Universe, and the first woman over 28 to claim the title of Miss Universe Canada. In 2022, she was the first Indigenous woman to appear as a Sports Illustrated model.
In addition, Sony Music recording artist Tia Wood will deliver a Special Guest Performance during the runway show, followed by an energizing after party at Stir, the resort’s feature bar located adjacent to the gaming floor. Hailing from the Saddle Lake Cree Nation, a community of about 6,000 people in Alberta, Canada, Wood is quickly making a name for herself in the music industry mecca of Los Angeles. Her debut EP, “Pretty Red Bird,” was released last year and included the singles “Dirt Roads,” “Losing Game,” “Catch & Release,” and “Sky High.” The EP earned Wood a Juno Award nomination this year for Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year.
After the show, attendees can shop exclusive runway pieces and other handcrafted creations at a number of designer pop-up shops.
