NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK: (December 13, 2024) – Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino will send out 2024 in grand, funk-tastic style, with a free New Year’s Eve performance by ‘80s legends Morris Day & The Time on Tuesday, December 31 from 10:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. at Stir, the high-energy feature bar located in the heart of the resort’s gaming floor!
“New Year’s Eve is our special day, and nobody has been doing it bigger or better for the last 22 years,” said Seneca Gaming Corporation President & CEO Kevin Nephew, noting that Seneca Niagara opened its doors on December 31, 2002. “People are going to want to be at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino with us all the way up to midnight and beyond. We’re going to throw the party of the year.”
Morris Day played an essential role in the development of the Twin City dance/club sound of the 1980s. Known for his dynamic dancing and gutsy vocals, Day was a founding member of Prince’s band, The Time. The band released three successful albums, with Day giving voice to hits like “Get It Up,” “Cool,” “The Bird,” “Jerk Out,” and the iconic “Jungle Love,” as well as appearing as himself in the major motion pictures “Purple Rain” and its sequel “Graffiti Bridge.” After launching a solo career, Day released three studio albums – 1985’s “Color of Success,” Daydreaming” in 1987, which included the chart-topping R&B song “Fishnet,” and 1992’s “Guaranteed.” Other film appearances include roles in “Moving,” “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane,” and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” which includes a memorable performance of “Jungle Love.”
Stir will be jumping throughout the night, with live music, dancing and specialty cocktails. DJ Nicholas Picholas will be on hand to entertain the crowd from 7 p.m. – 2 a.m. Party-goes are encouraged to embrace their glamorous side and celebrate the start of 2025 in their most fabulous vintage attire.
