NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK: (June 10, 2024) – The iconic sounds of one of music’s most enduring decades will come alive for two incredible nights this September at the Bear’s Den Showroom inside Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. Legendary 1980s band Modern English, known for their smash hit “I Melt With You,” will take the stage on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13 at 8pm. Modern English emerged as one of the most popular bands of the 1980s New Wave genre. Their debut album, 1981’s "Mesh & Lace," has become a post-punk classic. In 1982, the band released “After the Snow,” which included "I Melt with You," and became a household name. “I Melt with You” has been a staple on U.S. radio for decades, boasting over 7 million plays, and its video was a mainstay on MTV during the network’s early days. Over the years, Modern English released numerous albums, including "Take Me to the Trees" in 2017 and "1,2,3,4" in 2023. The band is highly regarded as post-punk pioneers, with their music continually discovered by new generations and emerging artists who cite them as a major influence.
