BUFFALO, NEW YORK: (February 7, 2022) – Western New York hockey fans will have a special opportunity to meet the voice behind countless memories this week.
Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino will host a special Meet and Greet event with Buffalo broadcasting legend Rick Jeanneret on Thursday, February 10 from 5-6 p.m. near the signature tree sculpture located in the heart of the casino’s gaming floor. The Meet and Greet event precedes that night’s game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Columbus Blue Jackets at KeyBank Center.

We’re thrilled to give local fans the chance to meet him as he completes his amazing career after 51 seasons.”
Jeanneret has been calling Buffalo hockey games since 1971, serving as the radio play-by-play announcer until adding television duties in 1995. From the days of the fabled French Connection line to the famous “May Day” playoff goal to the up-and-coming players of today’s roster, he has brought the thrills and excitement of the game into countless living rooms across the region, endearing himself to fans and earning his place in Buffalo and hockey broadcasting history. Jeanneret, who was honored with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for excellence in broadcasting by the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012, announced that he will retire from the broadcast booth at the end of this season.
